Sipi Falls

Sipi falls is a series of three waterfalls located on the foothills of Mt.Elgon, an extinct volcano which tradles the Uganda-Kenya border. At its highest point,the largest of the three waterfalls known as Sipi stands at 95m,the middle falls further upstream known as Simba has a vertical drop of 74m. The furthest waterfall upstream is called Ngasire falls with a drop of 85m.

All these three falls are located within a radius of less than 3km from Moses Campsite. With our campgrounds providing the best viewpoint of the Sipi falls the most powerful of the three falls. For the extended thrill, you can also choose to trek to this point to enjoy the stunning view and the thunder sound of water falling from a height of 95 meters. .

The best way to explore the natural beauty of Sipi Falls and its environs is by hiking/trekking to the falls. Along the hiking trails you will get to see a slice of the traditional life in the small villages dotting the landscape leading to the falls and there are several viewpoints offering panoramic views of the expansive plains below.

We were there with our 4x4 with roof tent. This campsite is so nice with an amazing view, basic facilities, good internet, bonfire in the evening. Emmanuel is a good guide to do a hike to the Sippi Falls or other activities

Basic campsite at the top of a cliff with spectaculair view of the falls. Facilities are basic but they are renovating it. Nice staff. We did a walking tour to the falls, which was great! The coffee tour is also a really nice experience! Our guide Emmanuel was very friendly and told us a lot about the area. They made us a great campfire!

We stayed in the bandas and they were great (clean and comfortable), but the real pleasure of the place is the people around it. Francis was a brilliant host, tour guide and friend. Made us feel entirely welcome and comfortable the whole time we were there. Call him if you ever need anything around Sipi (+256 752 335809). The beehive was also a great local pool bar. This is a place found in Kapchorwa district in the eastern district of Uganda. While there do not expect anything fancy, but the location on a plateau with stunning views over the countryside below is just breathtaking. The friendly staff make you a camp fire, bring you cold beers, and they can prepare you a basic meal. There are picnic tables and the staff can link you up with village guides for guided village walks.
